you are going to what?

Who knew that hyper extending my knee could be so much fun? Okay, so it hurt like all hell. BUT, she said I might be able to walk next week without the crutches. Anywho, I finally enrolled in my next class for school, criminal investigation. The ironic part, I almost bought this book at borders about 2 months ago just to read in my spare time. Now I HAVE to read it for class heh.

Also, I'm going to take up Karate as soon as the doctor gives it the okay. I figured, it will give me a little more self-defense (which is good for an aspiring female cop), it will help me get into shape, and it will also give me the stress management that I need.

Not much else going on right now. Let's hope it stays that way.

anticlimatic

I really dislike movies where I get excited for them, only to be disappointed by it. This is the case with the movie "Vacancy." I read a bunch of reviews online hoping to find some more information about it. Today I got to see that movie. For a movie that was supposed to be a "Hitchcock like thrill," it failed to even give me the slightest of a scare. It was predictable in so many ways, and fell into the cliche of a typical horror movie. So much potential was wasted. It could have been good.

Besides the movie, I figured I would update on my recovery. This sucks. I feel okay when I'm wearing the brace, but the minute it comes off and I have to try to do anything with a bare leg, I have sharp pains that just shoot through my knee. Its a major project just to take a shower. I want this to be over with, I want to be my normal self again.

i really need a manicure

I really need to get myself back into shape. Sitting here for two weeks now recovering has made me more than ever want to get up and go work out. As soon as the doctor clears me to go back to work, I'm going to start going back to the gym. I don't really like this blob that I have become.

I'm really going to keep track of this journal so that I can keep track of my progress. My career is so close to actually happening and its up to me to get that last step.

post surgery update #5849054389.7

i'm finally able to bend my leg. okay, so its not exactly the most comfortable thing to do, but its one more step in the right direction. taking a shower today proved to be incredibly difficult. also, one of the stitches that is supposed to be under my skin has somehow made it above my skin, thus, i need to talk to the doctor or hope it goes back under. it kinda looks like fishing line protruding out of my skin.

on another note, i really need to get hardcore into shape once i can start going back to the gym again. i hate feeling like this blob (although not being able to do anything and sitting in a chair all day watching tv, isn't exactly helping either).

i also need to get started with my next classes for school. i'm kinda looking forward to starting new classes, but at the same time, i'm nervous because i want to do well.

the house search also needs to continue. i really would like to be somewhere by next year.

alright, i think that should cover just about everything.

okay so for a real blog

When my sister and I were little kids, my grandmother bought us both some Disney stock. Today I got a letter in the mail stating that the bank "lost a box with important information containing my social security number, name, address, etc." All of this had to do with my Disney stock apparently. So I made some calls and did some research and it was actually legit. To make up for any potential problems, the bank enrolled me in a two year credit monitoring service and gave me identify theft insurance for up to 25k.

Today I also got my stitches out. My knee is sore as all hell, but its starting to heal. The only problem was that there was so much fluid in my knee, that they had to stick this giant needle in it to drain it all out. That hurt like someone was stabbing me in the leg. I had to try not to scream in the doctors office as they pulled out enough fluid to fill a few bottles. Argh, it was horrible. That has made my knee feel like it has been on fire all day now. However, he gave me some new pain meds that make me pretty sleepy, but the pain seems to be subsiding. We also talked about going back to work. Basically, in order to return to work I have to have full movement of my knee again and be able to walk on it without crutches. Both of which I am no where near at this point. I start physical therapy on Thursday and I have a follow up next week. We'll see how it goes from there.

Oh and I have color pictures of INSIDE of my knee during surgery. They give you copies of them like its a new child or something. They are going in my new scrapbook (as soon as I buy said new scrapbook).

finally getting this thing set up

After seeing Amanda's blog (http://piconepictures.blogspot.com/ btw i highly recommend her for pictures, she is incredibly talented when it comes to capturing just the right shot), it inspired me to finally set up my blog here. I'm not going to write much now. I'm still trying to figure out how to get this all set up, and put some nifty background on here, but apparently my hair is too blond today to let me learn how to do that.

so with that, here is my sister as a LOL cat :)
